1. Introduction
Welcome to Truck Lounge ("Truck Lounge," "we," "our," or "us").
Truck Lounge is a community-driven platform designed for professional truck drivers. Our mission is to help drivers find reliable truck parking locations, truck service stations, and other road-related services, while allowing the community to contribute accurate and up-to-date information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your information when you use:
- the Truck Lounge Android application;
- the Truck Lounge website, available at https://trucklounge.app;
- the Truck Lounge API and related online services;
- any future applications or services operated under the Truck Lounge brand.
By creating an account or using our Services, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
**Account** means your registered Truck Lounge user account.
**App** means the Truck Lounge mobile application.
**Service** means all services provided by Truck Lounge, including the website, API, and mobile application.
**Personal Data** means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
**User-Generated Content** means any information voluntarily provided by users, including parking locations, service locations, reviews, occupancy reports, safety ratings, comments, reports, and similar contributions.
**Processing** means any operation performed on Personal Data, including collection, storage, alteration, deletion, transfer, or anonymization.
3. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all Truck Lounge users regardless of country of residence.
It applies in the following circumstances:
- visiting our website;
- creating an account;
- signing in via email/password or Google Sign-In;
- viewing parking or service information;
- leaving reviews;
- reporting parking occupancy;
- voting on parking safety;
- creating new parking or service locations;
- contacting our support team.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services, which operate under their own privacy policies.
4. Who We Are
Truck Lounge is an independent project developed and operated by a private individual under the developer name **[WayneLabs]**, physically located in Poland.
The project is not registered as a legal entity. With respect to the personal data processing described in this Policy, **[WayneLabs]** acts as the data controller within the meaning of Article 4(7) GDPR.
Because the controller is physically located and carries out data processing within the European Union (Poland), the appointment of a separate EU representative under Article 27 GDPR is not required.
A separate Data Protection Officer (DPO) has not been appointed, as the processing does not meet the criteria requiring mandatory DPO appointment under Article 37 GDPR (no large-scale processing of special categories of data and no large-scale, systematic monitoring).

5. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Truck Lounge.
5.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- email address;
- Firebase Authentication user ID (UID);
- display name;
- authentication provider;
- account creation date;
- account status;
- user permissions or role.
Passwords are never stored on Truck Lounge servers. Authentication is securely managed via Firebase Authentication, which provides us only with the UID, email, and display name of the user.
5.2 Profile Information
Depending on your use of the Service, your profile may include:
- display name;
- vehicle information (if provided);
- account preferences;
- language preferences.
Providing optional profile information is voluntary.
5.3 Location Information
Truck Lounge uses location information to enhance the usefulness of the Service.
Location data may be used to:
- display nearby truck parking locations;
- display nearby truck service locations;
- calculate approximate distances;
- improve search results;
- center the map around your current location.
Truck Lounge does not continuously track your location. Location access is requested only when required by the app and can be disabled through your device settings.
Truck Lounge does not maintain a historical database of user movements or routes.
5.4 User-Generated Content
Users may voluntarily provide information, including:
- truck parking locations;
- truck service locations;
- parking occupancy reports;
- parking safety ratings;
- ratings;
- reviews;
- reports of incorrect information;
- moderation requests;
- other information submitted through the Service.
This information may become visible to other users.
To protect platform integrity and prevent abuse, user contributions are internally linked to the account that submitted them.
If an account is deleted, personally identifying information is removed from these contributions where technically and operationally feasible. Certain content may remain available in anonymized form to preserve the integrity, history, and functionality of the Service.
5.5 Device Information
We may automatically collect technical information, including:
- device model;
- operating system version;
- app version;
- preferred language;
- network information;
- diagnostic information;
- approximate country;
- IP address used to communicate with our servers.
This information is used solely for security, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and service improvement.
5.6 Log Information
Our servers automatically generate logs that may include:
- request timestamps;
- API requests;
- response status codes;
- authentication events;
- security events;
- server diagnostics.
Server logs are retained for no longer than 90 days, except where longer retention is necessary to investigate a specific security or fraud incident, or is required by law.
5.7 Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Truck Lounge website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for:
- authentication;
- session management;
- security;
- remembering user preferences;
- improving website functionality.
Truck Lounge does not use cookies for advertising purposes.
5.8 App Analytics and Diagnostics
Truck Lounge does not use third-party analytics SDKs that collect user behavior statistics (such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or Performance Monitoring).
The only third-party service processing user data during registration/sign-in is Firebase Authentication, which provides Truck Lounge only with the user ID (UID), email address, and display name. See Section 9 for details.
6. How We Use Your Information
Truck Lounge processes information to:
- provide access to the Service;
- authenticate users;
- maintain account security;
- display community-generated content;
- calculate parking occupancy information;
- calculate parking safety scores;
- moderate user-generated content;
- prevent abuse and fraud;
- investigate violations of our Terms of Use;
- improve platform performance;
- diagnose technical issues;
- comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
7. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Where the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") applies, Truck Lounge processes personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
- your consent;
- performance of a contract between you and Truck Lounge;
- compliance with legal obligations;
- legitimate interests pursued by Truck Lounge, provided such interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
Legitimate interests include:
- maintaining platform security;
- preventing fraud and abuse;
- protecting the integrity of community-generated information;
- improving the quality and reliability of the Service;
- ensuring compliance with our Terms of Use;
- resolving technical issues and responding to support requests.

8. How We Share Information
Truck Lounge does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
**Service Providers** — certain information is processed by trusted third-party service providers that support the operation of the Service (authentication, cloud infrastructure, mapping services, hosting providers). These providers process data only to the extent necessary to provide their services.
**Legal Requirements** — we may disclose information where required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful request by a government authority.
**Protection of Rights** — information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, prevent abuse, protect users, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect the security and integrity of Truck Lounge.
**Transfer or Continuation of the Project** — Truck Lounge is currently operated by a private individual. If the project is transferred to another person, incorporated as a legal entity, or its assets (including the user base) are transferred to a third party as part of a sale, merger, or restructuring, user information may be transferred as part of such a transaction. Any successor entity will remain bound by this Privacy Policy until a new policy is published, and users will be notified of such change through the app, website, or other available communication channels.
9. Third-Party Services
Truck Lounge relies on several trusted third-party providers. These providers operate under their own privacy policies.
**Firebase Authentication** — Truck Lounge uses Firebase Authentication to securely manage user accounts. Firebase may process: authentication credentials, authentication events, device identifiers, IP addresses, and security information necessary for authentication. Truck Lounge never receives or stores user passwords.
**Google Sign-In** — users may choose to authenticate using their Google account. If this option is selected, Google provides Truck Lounge only with information necessary to authenticate the user, such as: account ID, email address, display name. Truck Lounge does not access your Google Drive, Gmail, Photos, Contacts, Calendar, or any other Google services unless explicitly stated in the future.
**MapTiler** — Truck Lounge uses MapTiler to provide map tiles and related geographic services. When maps are displayed, certain technical information, such as IP address and map tile requests, may be processed by MapTiler in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. Truck Lounge does not control MapTiler's independent processing of information.
**MapLibre** — Truck Lounge uses the open-source rendering engine MapLibre. MapLibre itself does not collect personal information.
**OpenStreetMap** — certain geographic information is sourced from OpenStreetMap contributors. Truck Lounge uses OpenStreetMap data in accordance with the applicable Open Database License (ODbL).
**Hosting Infrastructure** — Truck Lounge's services are hosted on server infrastructure physically located in Poland (EU). Infrastructure providers may process limited technical information necessary for the secure operation of servers and network infrastructure.
10. International Data Transfers
Because the data controller and server infrastructure for Truck Lounge are located in Poland (EU), data for most EU/EEA users does not leave the European Union.
Certain third-party providers (e.g., Google/Firebase) may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States. In such cases, Truck Lounge relies on safeguards provided by these providers — typically Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
11. Data Retention Periods
Truck Lounge retains personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

12. Security
Truck Lounge implements appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include, where applicable:
- encrypted communication via HTTPS;
- secure authentication via Firebase Authentication;
- restricted administrative access;
- role-based authorization;
- server-side validation;
- database security controls;
- monitoring for unauthorized access attempts;
- regular software updates.
Despite these measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should also take reasonable steps to protect their own accounts, including keeping their credentials confidential.
13. Your Rights
Depending on your country of residence, you may have certain legal rights regarding your personal information, including:
- the right to access your personal information;
- the right to request correction of inaccurate information;
- the right to request deletion of personal information;
- the right to object to certain processing activities;
- the right to restrict processing;
- the right to receive a copy of your information, where applicable;
- the right to withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent;
- the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Truck Lounge will respond to relevant requests within the timeframes required by law.

14. Account Deletion
Users may delete their Truck Lounge account at any time using the app's functionality or by contacting support.
When an account is deleted, Truck Lounge immediately and permanently deletes or anonymizes the personal information associated with that account, except where retention is required by applicable law or necessary to protect Truck Lounge's legitimate interests (for example, to resolve an active dispute or investigate a violation).
After account deletion:
- your authentication credentials are deleted;
- your user profile is deleted;
- personally identifiable information linked to your account is deleted or anonymized;
- access to your account is permanently blocked.
To preserve the integrity, accuracy, and historical value of community-generated information, certain user contributions may remain available in anonymized form: parking locations, service locations, parking occupancy reports, parking safety ratings, reviews and ratings, moderation reports, and other community contributions.
Once anonymized, these contributions can no longer be linked to your identity.
Account deletion is final and cannot be reversed once completed.
15. Automated Decision-Making
Truck Lounge may use automated algorithms to calculate parking occupancy indicators and safety scores based on data submitted by the community.
These calculations do not constitute automated decision-making producing legal effects concerning the user within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR, and are not used to make decisions restricting a user's access to the Service without human involvement.
16. Children's Privacy
Truck Lounge is intended for use by professional drivers and other adult users. The Service is not intended for children below the age required by applicable law to give valid consent to the processing of personal data.
Truck Lounge does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information as soon as possible.
Parents or legal guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information through Truck Lounge may contact us using the contact information below.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Truck Lounge may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable laws or regulations, Service improvements, new feature implementations, changes in data processing practices, or security enhancements.
When significant changes are made, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
Where required by law, users will be notified of material changes through the app, website, or other appropriate communication channels.
Continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
