Account & Data Deletion
1. Introduction
Truck Lounge respects your right to control your personal data.
This page explains how you can delete your Truck Lounge account, what happens to your personal information, and how your community contributions are handled after deletion.
2. How to Delete Your Account
You may delete your Truck Lounge account at any time.
Account deletion can be initiated directly within the Truck Lounge application through the account settings.
If you are unable to access your account, you may also request deletion by contacting:
support@trucklounge.app
To protect your privacy, we may request information necessary to verify your identity before processing deletion requests submitted by email.
3. What Happens When Your Account Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, Truck Lounge permanently removes or deactivates your account information, including:
your account profile;
your authentication credentials managed through Firebase Authentication;
your personal preferences associated with the account;
other personal information that is no longer required for operating the Service.
Some information may be retained where required by applicable law or for legitimate legal obligations, such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance with legal requirements.
4. Community Contributions
Truck Lounge is a community-driven platform.
Deleting your account does not automatically remove parking locations, service locations, occupancy reports, reviews, safety votes, or other community contributions that you submitted.
Instead, where reasonably possible, these contributions are anonymized by removing the connection between the content and your personal account.
This approach helps preserve valuable community information while protecting your privacy.
5. Data Retention
Account deletion requests are processed as soon as reasonably practical.
Certain records may be retained for a limited period where necessary to:
comply with legal obligations;
resolve disputes;
prevent fraud or abuse;
enforce our Terms of Use;
maintain the integrity of the Service.
Once retention is no longer required, the remaining personal information will be deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
6. Third-Party Services
Truck Lounge uses certain third-party service providers, including Firebase Authentication.
When your account is deleted, your authentication account is also removed from Firebase Authentication.
Please note that third-party providers may retain limited technical logs in accordance with their own legal obligations and privacy policies.
7. Changes to This Policy
Truck Lounge may update this Account & Data Deletion Policy from time to time.
When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised.
Continued use of the Service after updates become effective indicates acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by applicable law.
